About Galaxy Backbone
In 2025, the Nigeria Entrepreneurs Network (NEN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) to establish a strategic partnership focused on entrepreneurship development, capacity building, digital skills training and business empowerment. The collaboration was designed to combine NEN's entrepreneurship development platform and business community with Galaxy Backbone's technology expertise and digital infrastructure capabilities. Through the partnership, both organisations committed to supporting programmes that equip entrepreneurs, startups and young Nigerians with relevant knowledge, digital competencies and practical business skills needed to build sustainable enterprises and participate effectively in Nigeria's growing digital economy.
The Nigeria Entrepreneurs Network (NEN) is a private-sector-led, non-profit professional network established to promote entrepreneurship, business development and economic growth in Nigeria. NEN connects entrepreneurs, professionals, startups and business owners while providing capacity-building programmes, professional networking, business development services, skills acquisition, enterprise education, funding support and access to local and international business opportunities. Its mission centres on connecting Nigerian professionals and business experts, building their capacity and creating opportunities for productive and sustainable enterprises.
Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) is an Information and Communications Technology services company wholly owned by the Federal Government of Nigeria and serves as a major provider of shared digital infrastructure and technology services to government institutions. Its mandate includes providing ICT infrastructure, broadband connectivity, cloud and data-centre services, applications and other shared technology services, while also contributing to ICT capacity development. The 2025 MoU between NEN and Galaxy Backbone therefore represents a strategic convergence of entrepreneurship and technology, creating a framework through which both organisations can promote digital inclusion, entrepreneurship education, innovation and skills development while strengthening the capacity of Nigerian entrepreneurs to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the digital economy.
