About The Africa-Azerbaijan Cooperation (AFAZ)
The Africa-Azerbaijan Cooperation (AFAZ) acts as the primary chamber and strategic organization forging economic, institutional, and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and the African continent. Founded by Rena Gafarova, it connects entrepreneurs, SMEs, and investors across the Caspian region and African markets. On the 27th of February 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was entered into in the spirit of mutual cooperation, goodwill, and shared strategic objectives between NEN and AFAZ to promote economic collaboration, trade facilitation, entrepreneurship development, investment promotion, and bilateral engagement between Nigeria, ECOWAS member states, Azerbaijan, and broader African markets. Recognizing the complementary strengths, networks, and institutional mandates of both Parties, the MoU established a structured framework for collaboration on a pro bono basis, subject to mutually agreed terms and specific project arrangements.
